Suffolk Villages Festival 2012
Saturday 25 to Monday 27 August 2012

The new-look four-concert 2012 Festival begins with a day of talks and performances devoted to the music of J.S. Bach, beginning with a coffee concert at 11.00 consisting of Steven Devine’s acclaimed complete performance of the Goldberg Variations, now on CD. In the afternoon Steven Devine will hold a keyboard masterclass, and in the evening Peter Holman will direct a rare performance of the 1725 version of St John Passion. The Orlando Consort will make a welcome return to the Festival on the Sunday evening with a programme entitled ‘Food, Wine & Song’. The Festival will end on the Monday evening with a gala concert celebrating our twenty-fifth anniversary. We will revisit some of the highlights of earlier festivals, and there will be a few surprises and light-hearted items.
